The Ban Has Been Lifted!

Inline ImageWhile everyone was enjoying the blistering heat this summer the Bog was baking. Despite it being classified as a wetland, the Bog was anything but. On July 24th the Delta Fire Chief declared the Delta Nature Reserve and Watershed Park CLOSED due to an extreme fire risk. The closure could not have come at a worse time for the Society. With Day Camps, International Bog Days and Rock the Bog planned for July 25th, 26th and 27th the staff was scrambling to find alternative venues and activities. All day camps were moved to the Sudbury Hall thanks to the Corporation of Delta. On September 9 the ban was fully lifted and the Bog is once again open to the public
